Optimist International Essay Contest

This contest requires students under the age of 19 to compose a 400- to 500-word essay around a central idea to develop their writing and critical thinking skills. One local winner will receive a $200 savings bond and will move on to the zone level, with an opportunity to garner a scholarship of $2,500 at the District level. Three International-level scholarships of up to $6,000 will be awarded.
